The Denon Wing houses such famous works such as the Mona Lisa, Winged Victory and Michelangelo's Rebellious Slave. The Denon Wing is named after Dominique Denon, 18th Century French illustrator, scientist and author. The Eiffel Tower was erected on the occasion of the World Fair 1889. The true symbol of Paris. The Carrousel Arch, designed by Pierre-Francois Fontaine and Charles Percier and built between 1806 and 1808, it celebrates the victories of Napoleon Bonaparte in 1805.
