Tomb of Napoleon I Paris France

Tomb of Napoleon I resting in the Dome des Invalides. Napoleon died on May 5, 1821, on St. Helena. It took seven years for the French to get permission from England bring the body of their Emperor to his own country. Louis Philippe, the French King at the time, sent his son, the Prince of Joinville, to St. Helena to supervise the exhumation of the body.
